Volunteer Opportunities November 2020

The September Newsletter provides a more in depth update on the following volunteer opportunities.

The DDC

Under normal circumstances, the Club provides funding, volunteers and logistical support for local, state-wide, out-of-state and national level political campaigns.  Due to COVID, our activities in 2020 have been restricted.  The Club has already contributed significantly to various political campaigns from Biden-Harris down to the local Davis Campaign HQ Office (see below*).  As the first step in becoming political involved, please join the Davis Democratic Club (click the “Membership” link).

In the absence of door-to-door canvassing,  a personal handwritten letter letter is considered to be the third best form of voter outreach.  The Club has organized a letter writing campaign targeted to competitive CD’s within California.  Volunteers are provided with an address list, stationary, stamped envelopes and a script.  You can make a difference by doing this work in the safety and leisure of your own home.  The possibilities are open ended and limited only by the number of volunteers. We need your help!  If you wish to participate or have any questions, contact Bob Bockwinkel at 530-219-1896 or at email <bbockwinkellrn@gmail.com>.

The Yolo County Democratic Party.

YCDP has opened a campaign HQ office at 617 G St. Suite A1, Davis, which will soon schedule regular business hours.  The Office provides Biden Harris yard signs and voter information. YCDP will also soon schedule phone banking to competitive races both within California and-other states and districts.  Contact Lily Starling at 530-564 2400.

CALIFORNIA DEMOCRACTIC PARTY Volunteer Opportunities

Allied Political Groups

Indivisible Yolo and Sister District-CA3 are two allied volunteer groups.   The focus for Sister District-CA3 is to turn states blue by winning state legislative elections.  Volunteers canvass, phonebank, write postcards, text-bank, and fundraise for candidates.  Sister District-CA3, specifically, has worked on races in Virginia and Arizona.

Indivisible Yolo and Sister District have joined forces to focus on state races in Arizona and getting Biden-Harris elected in November.   They are holding virtual phone banks on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and every weekend.   To be part of their efforts visit their respective Facebook pages and/or visit their websites.
